Installing Outplan Legends
To use Outplan Legends, you'll first need to install it on your computer. The installation process is straightforward and should only take a few minutes. Simply follow the instructions provided in Outplan Installer. If you require assistance, please check out our FAQs or contact Support.

Launching the add-in
Once the add-in is installed, you can launch it by finding the add-in icon under Outplan tab in Autodesk® Revit®. Click on the icon to launch the add-in.

Creating a legend template
To use the add-in, you'll need to create a legend template. Click on the "Manage template" action button on the left side of the add-in window. Name your template and then go through the options on the left side to choose the desired categories for your template. On the right side, customize the template settings to decide how the legend will look.

Choosing areas to place your legends
Once you've created a template, click on the “Assign placement” action button to select a title block from your model. The title block opens in a new Autodesk® Revit® view where you define the desired rectangular area your legend will be placed in. All legends that you create for the sheet using this title block will be from now on placed in the defined area. You can do this for each title block separately.

Generating legends
Once you have created a legend template and assigned placement for the needed title blocks, you can start generating legends. Click on the action button “Generate legends” on the left. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the different options of legend generation screen. Hit “Generate ” to finish the process.

Seeing your existing legends at one glance
Outplan Legends is a bigger than just a legend generation. Under the action button “Manage legends”, you can also view the information about existing legends in the model and delete them if necessary. Congratulations! Now you’re ready to unleash the power legends in Autodesk® Revit®.
